This is one of my completed over-Christmas-break projects. I have been without a pin cushion up until this point, and I was finding pins ALL over the floor and everywhere (NOT a good thing), so I found this tutorial from Make it And Love it and used it for my inspiration.
I found a package of these
at Dollar Tree (a package of 2 for $1.00)
These were also at Dollar Tree, a whole package for a $1.00!
They're felt, and I just cut the flowers off and have several more flowers for future projects.
Love the bright colors!
(Material was from a bag of scraps I snatched up at the DI for $2.00 a few months ago).
What I did differently from Ashley's tutorial:
I sewed up the material roughly on the bottom of the cushion instead of hot gluing it, because I knew it would be easier for me. I just put some hot glue at the bottom of my dish to secure it. Being that my dish was probably deeper than the one in Ashley's tutorial, I should have made my material square a tad bigger to fit all the way to the bottom, but it's still functional, and pretty cute!
Now I just need to make a 2nd one so I can have one on the floor where I'm cutting out, and one by my machine so I can pull out pins as I'm sewing!
