I have been in love with the artwork above over at Craftaholics Anonymous. I decided that I could make one too. I tried it with all solid papers, because that’s what I had on hand and it looked dumb. Then I talked my sister into letting me go through her paper stash, and tried again. And I love how it turned out! My husband said that it looks very feminine. I think that’s good for Valentines Day décor, don’t you think? :)
I haven’t usually been into holiday décor (other than Christmas and Halloween), but I think that’s because up until now I’ve been a busy student…since I was 5. And now that I’m not, I can deck the house in holiday décor! Hooray. I cut the hearts out with my silhouette, and then used mod podge to glue the hearts to the canvas. Oh…and How did I get my canvas to look like that? It was so fun! I took a foam brush and dipped on side of the tip in red acrylic paint, and the other side of the tip in pink acrylic paint. Then I brushed back and forth so some places got red with pink on top, etc. I was going to cover the whole canvas, but I ended up liking some white in there too. (If that didn’t make sense, I can make a mini-tute on paper.) Very easy, very quick, and very satisfying. My type of project.
Thanks for reading! Have a great day.
