Since getting my Silhouette Cameo, I’ve been wanting to try vinyl. This is one of my first projects. My laundry room is more of a hallway from the backdoor to the kitchen, and it very functional. It is equipped with a washing sink, and I LOVE it. It needs a good razor blade scraping and then maybe I will show it to you. My husband is a mechanic so I am always washing dirt and grease out of things. The room is quite dark, so I needed something cheerful.
I had gotten the plaque from DI a couple years ago, painted over the design with a light cream (which totally didn’t work by the way), and left it. I had a few ideas, but without a vinyl cutter I really couldn’t do any of them. So this got a quick 2 coats of ocean breeze acrylic paint, and a cute vinyl cutout slapped onto it. I imported the image from Microsoft Word’s clipart. Cheri’s tutorial on how to import images was very helpful (it’s the 3rd video in the post). The only thing I did different was copy my image into paint and saved it as a jpg to my desktop. Then I followed the rest of her instructions to make it a cuttable image.
I’ve made one other thing for my laundry room that I have ready to share later in the week. It makes the laundry room a little more cheery. :)
Thanks for reading!
